ITINERARY
This exciting and action-packed one-week Kyrgyzstan Cultural Tour 2 will acquaint you with the history, culture and nomadic traditions of the Kyrgyz. You will visit the main architectural monuments of Kyrgyz cities and the most picturesque gorges of Kyrgyzstan – Jety-Oguz and Fairy-Tale. As part of the tour you will get familiarized with the life of the Kyrgyz in the small Kochkor village and also have an opportunity to live in a genuine Kyrgyz yurt (tent) by Son-Kul lakeside surrounded by green pastures.
Program day by day:
Day 1: Bishkek
Arrival in Bishkek, transfer to the hotel. After some rest Sightseeing tour: Oak Park, Ala-Too Square, Russian Orthodox Church, Victory Square and Oriental market – Osh bazaar. After lunch transfer to the Ala-Archa National Park (40 km). In an hour you will be in the alpine gorge through which the fast flowing Ala-Archa River runs, flanked by tall, snow-covered peaks, steep-sided, fir - forested mountain slopes and alpine meadows cowered with flowers. Hiking from the Alpine camp (2200 m) to the Ak-Sai waterfall (35 m, on the altitude of 2700 m). Return back to the alpine camp. Transfer to Bishkek. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Bishkek – Chichkan
Transfer to Chichkan gorge, which is one of the most beautiful places in Kyrgyzstan. Today we will be crossing mountain passes over 3000 m high. You will drive over the Too-Ashu Pass and through a beautiful Suusamyr valley. It is a good day for photographers. Great view is guaranteed. Overnight at the guesthouse.
Day 3: Chichkan – Jalalabat – Arslanbob
Transfer to the small town Jalalabat. On the way you will be passing one of the largest reservoirs in Kyrgyzstan, Toktogul, that funnels the gorgeous Naryn River into a hydroelectric station. Transfer to Arslanbob village. There is a large, sacred, revered wild walnut forest which is considered to be the biggest fruit-walnut forest in the world. Dinner and overnight at the home stay.
Day 4: Arslanbob
Free day in Arslanbob. Hiking to the waterfall where you may feast your eyes on a beautiful panorama. Arslanbob's scenic beauty and pleasant climate, as well as two impressive waterfalls attract tourists, pilgrims and other visitors during the spring and summer months. Picnic. Dinner with a local family. Family run accommodation.
Day 5: Arslanbob – Osh
Transfer to Osh. Visiting a market and mausoleum in Uzgen. Uzgen town was one of the capitals of the Karakhanid Khanate in the 11th and 12th centuries. Arrival in Osh in the afternoon. Overnight at the guest house.
Day 6: Osh – Bishkek
City tour after breakfast. As legends say Osh was founded by King Solomon ages ago and had an important position on trading routes of the Great Silk Road. This day you will visit Suleiman-Too (Solomon’s Mountain), museum, Osh bazaar – this market locates at the same place as in the times of Great Silk Road. After lunch transfer to the airport. Flight to Bishkek. Arrival in Bishkek. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Bishkek – airport
Transfer to the airport. End of the tour.
